1Using the site

ShopPreston.co.uk is a free directory of local businesses. We try to keep listings accurate but can't guarantee every detail, such as opening hours, prices or contact details, so check with the business first. We're not responsible for the goods or services any business provides.

Please don't misuse the site: no spam, fake enquiries, attempts to break security, or scraping.

2Enquiries

Enquiries you send through a listing go to that business, or to us to pass on if the listing hasn't been claimed. We can't guarantee a business will reply.

3Listing your business

• Basic listings are free. Anyone can suggest a business, and we may add, edit or remove listings at our discretion.
• To manage a listing you must claim it. We verify claims before approving them and may ask for proof you own or represent the business.
• You're responsible for what you add. It must be accurate, lawful, yours to use (including photos) and not misleading.
• You give us permission to display the content you provide on the site and in promotion of the directory.
• We may remove content or suspend a listing that breaks these terms.

4Paid plans

We're not VAT registered, so no VAT is added. The price shown is the price you pay.

• Plans are billed in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled.
• Cancel any time from your account's billing page. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, then the listing returns to the free version.
• Payments aren't refundable for part-used periods, except where the law requires. If you pay when adding a business and we don't approve it, we refund you in full automatically.
• If a payment fails we'll let you know. If it isn't resolved, the listing returns to the free version.
• We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal.
• We may offer free Featured trials at our discretion. A trial ends automatically and never turns into a paid plan unless you choose to upgrade.

Paid plans are for businesses, so consumer cooling-off rights don't apply.

5Advertising

Free listing pages may show third-party adverts. Paid listing pages don't. We don't endorse advertised products.

6Liability

The site is provided "as is". We aren't liable for indirect losses, lost profits or business, or interruptions to the site. Our total liability to a paying business is limited to what it paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

7Privacy

How we use personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

8Changes and law

We may update these terms, and the date at the top shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to its courts.
